On 26 August 1964, thirteen (soom leikdum) Lamkang patriots, the members of the first Lamkang Literature Committee, came to write down Lamkang numbers and to begin the writing in the mother tongue.
There were:

8. Th. Beshot, Pastor, Thamlapokpi
9. J. Wangbem, Lamkang Khunou
10. S. Thamṭit Shonglun, Teacher
11. D. Thamnok, Teacher, Charlong
12. L. Beshoi, Komsen
13. S. Benong, Charangching Khunkha.
They successfully counted even up to 1 lakh - arja-khat and tried to write down Lamkang spoken language using the Latin script. In January 1965 it was published- The 1st Edition of Hero Lamkang Primary. This booklet is available in Lamkang Library and on the Lamkang website. We deeply appreciate their work, their input in mother tongue development.

On 4th October 2025, 60 years later, another Lamkang patriots, the members of the officially registered Lamkang Literature Society, after a long deep research, completed the numeracy up to 10 billion in Lamkang language.
There were:
Loveson Ss (LLS President, Deeringkhu), Shakhila K (LLS Secretary, Lmk. Khunou), Rocky Ss (LLS Information Secr., Kongpe), Shenong D (LLS Executive, Daampii), William Ss (Kongpe), Lily D (LLS Executive, Paraolon), Daniel Th (Translator, EBT, LNBA), Lera Nt (LLS volunteer) and with the full support of the other LLS members and Lamkang authorities.
This numeracy is already up to ten billion - síi-soom, and we are glad to return it to our people in the written form.
We look to the future with confidence, strength, and courage.
